Standard Acrylic Sheet Sizes and How to Cut Yield Waste

Sheet size is one of the easiest places to save money on an acrylic order, and one of the most commonly overlooked.

The standard sizes we stock 48" x 96" is the workhorse size. It fits most CNC beds, ships easily and is the default for signage and display work. 60" x 120" suits larger panels, glazing and retail fixtures, and often nests bigger parts with less scrap. 75" x 125" is the jumbo size for architectural panels and long runs where fewer seams matter. Custom sizes are available when a standard sheet will not nest efficiently.

Think in yield, not in sheet price The number that matters is cost per finished part, not cost per sheet. A slightly more expensive sheet that nests nine parts instead of six is the cheaper sheet. Before ordering, lay your part out on each candidate size and compare parts-per-sheet.

Simple ways to improve yield Rotate parts to follow the long axis. Group similar thicknesses into one order. Allow a consistent kerf and edge margin rather than guessing per job. Where the design permits, adjust one dimension by a fraction of an inch — small changes often add an extra row of parts.

Pallet quantities Full pallets are priced better than loose sheets because they ship as a single freight unit. Pallets are built to a target weight, so the sheet count per pallet depends on thickness and size. If you are close to a pallet, it is usually worth topping up.
